Alberta Mission to Nano Tech 2011 in Japan
February 16-18, 2011
Tokyo, Japan

nanoAlberta is working with NINT to take a group of Alberta companies and researchers to Nano Tech 2011 in Tokyo, Japan from February 16-18, 2011.

The goal of the Mission is to assist Alberta nano and microtechnology companies find new markets and partners. This year the focus of the Mission will be to build opportunities for companies and associated researchers with portable or handheld instruments for biomedical diagnostics and environmental monitoring. These companies typically utilize micro and nanofabrication techniques to build systems, microfluidic chips, MEMS based components and sensors for use in the field, or at the point of care or need.

A core of companies that develop systems or components for this market have started to emerge in Alberta over the past several years. Many of these companies have licenced or developed technology from researchers at the Universities of Alberta or Calgary.

Nano Tech 2011 is one of the largest global nanotechnology conferences. The Mission will provide Alberta companies with an opportunity to show their products to the world and help them find new customers and partners.
